Last afternoon in Venice

Venice Italy

We came back to Venice from our beautiful visit of Murano & Burano islands just in time for lunch.

We had planned to go to Cantina do Mori, which is the oldest bacaro in Venice. That was without knowing that the place is closed on Sunday.
Plan B turned out to be very good though, we went to Enoteca Do Colonne, where we shared some cicheti chosen among an incredibly huge selection of little sandwiches, cod and fried seafood, all washed down by Spritz!
I was so hungry I forgot to take any picture of the place, but you'll have to trust me when I say their cicheti are amazing ;)

After lunch we continued strolling around Cannaregio neighbourhood and the ancient ghetto.

We thought about going to Guggenheim, but actually to walk around Venice is so magical that you never want to go inside!

All the elegant palaces, the little bridges, the tiny streets... Everything is so beautiful & unique...

We happily got lost among the teeny alleys, laughing, chatting, enjoying each other company...

...and making new friends along the way :)

Happily, rain stayed away until the very end of the afternoon, when we were more than happy to close ourselves inside for a last aperitif/early supper.

We went back to Osteria al Portego, which we elected our favorite bacaro of the week-end!
We were there for our first night in Venice & we finished our beautiful week-end in the same place ;)

A last spritz, a last prosecco & lots of cicheti!!

Try the eggplant parmigiana, if they have it, you won't regret it!

Full & happy, we only had time left to grab our luggages at the hotel and hop on the ferry to the airport, not without a last happy look over the Grand Canal :)
